Hi Roger. If you already know how to play piano and violin then it should be a lot faster for you to learn guitar or any other instrument. I am assuming that you can read some music and have developed some control over using your fingers. If you have the discipline to learn piano and violin then you already know that it is going to take a long time to master guitar, just like any other instrument. But if you practice and follow a good lesson plan you should be able to play some simple songs within a couple months. I wish you well. Pete

It will be easier to learn for you than for someone with no musical experience...that is, if you mastered your previous instruments. you will know more music theory and learning chords and notes will take less time for you. but still...not everyone can really play the guitar, even if they learn how.

Your piano and violin skills will give you a slight advantage, but you're still gonna have to learn how to hold a pick, strum, finger chords etc from scratch. All this will take you three years at least. No one aver really masters guitar your skills just get better over the years

Because you played both Violin and Piano, you will have an edge reading and playing music, but you will still have to learn the technique required to pick and strum a guitar properly. There is not much carryover from the piano and violin to the guitar technique wise, but obviously your musical experience will make that part of it that much easier.
