What is the difference between a stratocaster and a telecaster?

Some questions about the telecaster, any fender tele users?
I have a Fender American Special Telecaster, there are 2 screws at both ends of the neck pickup, does that mean I don't need to remove the pickguard to adjust the neck pickup?In the manual it says that the distance between the pickup must be specific depending to the type of pickups it has, in this case my guitar has Texas Special pickups, but it says the bass side of the pickup must be from the bottom of the string to the top of the pickup 3.6 mm and in the treble side 2.4 mm. I really want to make the best of the guitar but is this thing of adjusting applied to this guitar not sure if this standards are only used using a Stratocaster as an example ? I want this to be how it was supposed to be set, but is it true for many fender guitars that this is required to make when you buy a Fender and bring it back from over one country to another? How much money could i get for my telecaster?
i have a telecaster, custom made by a place named ricky's guitar shop in NYC, about 10 years ago. it has gold hardware, maple neck and finishing, and plays like a real champ still. i just wanted to know what the price estimate would be for it. it was sold for 4,500$ off the start, and i bought it at 1,500$ secondhand near mint condition .
American standard telecaster vs standard telecaster?
I'm thinking about getting a telecaster, and I have just enough money for an American standard but I'm having trouble figuring why there's such a price difference between the two, and to be honest i'd rather pay 7 or $800 rather than $1400. Am I just paying for slightly better pickups and that hard shell case? Any help will be appreciated.
I'm planning on buying a fender American telecaster, would you say a £1,000 is a decent price/decent guitar?
The band i'm in is getting quite a bit of attention and i was thinking of getting a slightly more decent guitar. The one i've got at the moment is quite old now and a bit knackered really.I think i'm expected to have a slightly better guitar at this point but i'm slightly strapped for cash being a student still would you say that an American made telecaster is decent enough? i've played a few, they sound great to me.
Anybody know where to fine tuning machines for a 1972 Ibanez thinline telecaster?
I have a 1972 Ibanez telecaster that doesn't work, I wold like to fix it up but the only part I can't find are the tuning machines... Anybody know where I can find replacements?
Fender Telecaster '72 Custom?
Hey all,I'm considering getting a Fender Telecaster 72 Custom jgwindows.com products 0717669018962.html to add to my guitar collection. I've been after a Tele for a while, and think that adding a Fender to what I have now Gibson LP, Gibson SG would add a new dimension to my sound. I've played around with this one, and it's pretty hot however was wondering if anyone had played it through a Marshall Mode Four to be precise as the store I'm getting it at only stocks Fender amps. I'm after a Keith Richards style tone, that sort of music so pretty sure this is the Tele to go for or so I've been told So to summarise 1. Anyone played a Fender Telecaster '72 Custom through a Marshall, if so, how does it sound?2. What did you think of the guitar as a whole?
What good song for me to play on my Fender Telecaster?
I have a 1986 Fender Telecaster, and it's had some electrical problems. We took it this week to a store, and we are getting it completely fixed. I played guitar, and didn't pick it up for about 6 months. I used to be good considering I was a middle schooler. I could play most of " One" until the parts got insanely fast, play " Limelight" until it got to the solos, I could most of " Comfortably Numb" until it got to some parts of the second solo, and I could play various other songs. I have never been good at playing really fast, and I would like to learn how to get better. How can I become a faster guitarist? What are some good songs to learn how to play on my Tele? How can I learn how to finger pick? I have never been good at that. Are there any good beginner songs for that? Thank you.
Telecaster grounding issues?
My telecaster is making a really bad buzzing noise. The buzzing goes away when I touch either of the controll nobs, controll plate or strings. It increases when I touch the bridge plate. After doing research online people are saying its a grounding issue, but I don't know how to solve this problem.I just installed new pickups, the wiring should be fine as everything lines up with my schematics.
Is it worth the money getting my new Fender American Special Telecaster professionally set up?
I recently got this guitar and I hear many people get their guitars " professionally set up" adjustments to neck, bridge, etc. i guess for better intonation when they get a new guitar. I do not know how to do it myself. I was just wondering what are some benefits from doing this and if it is something that's recommended once you buy a new guitar? thanks
Fender Stratocaster with Telecaster Pickups?
I was trying to get a telecaster for the sake of that 50s twang sound. I figured if I trade it at a store, it's not worth it. Should I just get the tele pickups and install them into my strat?

CAN SOMEONE IDENTIFY THIS FENDER TELECASTER?
About 5 years ago when I was 12 I was given a guitar as a present by one of my Dad's mates. It's a Fender Telecaster but i'm unsure whether it is real or not.. It doesn't have a serial number but it has a code on a white stick that had a code '3301367' on the bottom of the headstock at the back. Also, where it says 'Fender " Telecaster" although it's very sly, it's actually a sticker and not printed. The wood looked varnished on the neck and headstock and the base of the guitar is sunburst. There is a black stripe going up the back of the neck aswell. can anyone tell me what guitar model this is and whether it is real or fake??? and how much is it worth thank you
