Is it hard to teach yourself guitar?
i'm 14 and i want to learn guitar, but i'd rather teach myself than take lessons or could i take lessons for a few months then teach myself? what do you think would be better?and if i were to teach myself from the start, how exactly do you do it?thank you everyone for the answers
What do you think the easiest way to teach yourself guitar is?

What are the best "teach yourself guitar" books around?
I haven't played guitar for about 5 years and so im pretty rusty, and only had a years worth of lessons so i would pretty much like to start from scratch. I have a brilliant acoustic guitar but just not the skills to use them, and i don't have the money for a lot of lessons. Anyone out there used any great self teach books on guitars that you could recommend? Or any books that have really good reviews? Thanks x

So, my summer project is to teach myself guitar. And not only this summer but year round. I am willing and WILL commit to practicing daily. I am NOT going to give this up. Teaching yourself guitar?
I've been playing for awhile but all I do is look up tabs and learn the songs I want to learn but in the end I realized I'm not actually learning to play the guitar rather just learning how to play the song. I know people who get lessons are apparently gonna advance quicker but I can't afford a teacher nor do I really have the time.I was thinking about instead of just learning songs I would do some finger warm ups for like 10 min. then maybe practice some chords for another 15 20 then move onto scales for about 10 15 more minutes and then just end my practicing on playing whatever I wanna play for however long I feel like playing. I would really like to play better, but I get so annoyed some times that I don't ever feel like picking up the guitar and then all the practice building up my calluses will be for nothing. Is this an effective method to use? How did you other self taught guitarists practice?I play acoustic by the way, well now I do. It's noticeably more difficult than electric.Edit I will practice for at least an hour a day, that's another one of my problems, I'm not disciplined enough and I let my anger get the best of me.
