Question: What are some suggestions for learning left-handed guitar?

I am just beginning to learn to play the guitar and i demoed a couple of friends acoustic guitars a few weeks back. I found that strumming them lefty felt more comfortable even though i am for the most part right handed. I am wondering if i should buy a left handed guitar, or just learn a right handed guitar upside down. Since there is a larger variety of right handed guitars is it possible to learn lefty on a right handed guitar? What is the difference anyways, are the notes and chords on a left handed guitar the same as a right handed guitar? ...

I play lefty guitar, and it is a bit tricky at first. when you read tab though, it is no problem playing that, as it is written in a way that bothe rightys and leftys can read it just fine. the chords are all the same just mirrored from the righty guitar.

There isa bit of a difference. I ts probably best 4 u to buy a lefty guitar cuz when you come to play all the strings will be the other way round if you see what im saying!Even though theres more right-handd guitars theres still a fare share of lefty guitars to! glamgalx

Just buy a righty and if it bugs you switch the strings around so that it is like a lefty.

Try using videos on the internet, they offer a teacher who will not get inpatient although they cannot comment on what you are doing and how you are going wrong. if you are willing to pay try looking up left handed guitar tutors. you cannot learn using a right handed guitar upside down as the 3 plastic string will be at the top instead of at the bottom. you could remove the strings and put them back on in the opposite position for example Normal guitar lefty -----string 1 -----string 6 -----string 2 -----string 5 -----string 3 -----string 4 -----string 4 -----string 3 -----string 5 -----string 2 -----string 6 -----string 1 you would have to re tune the strings here but after you re tune the strings you have a lefty guitar without having to buy a costom (more expensive) lefty guitar
