DO NOT restring an acoustic steel string guitar the bracing is heavier on the bass side, to handle the extra tension, if you reverse the strings, the bracing will be wrong the top will probably pull up Plus, the bridge "saddle " is slanted, to help the guitar stay in tune, if you reverse the strings, the guitar will NOT play in tune as you go up the neck The nut will need to be replaced, but that can be done SOME electrics, can be reversed, it the bridge saddles can be adjusted far enough. many can't many Gibsons, and other brands, use a bridge that is also slanted, so you won't be able to adjust the "intonation " far enough, to allow it to play in tune again, the nut will need to be replaced most classical guitars are no big deal, since tension isn't an issue will the strings, and the saddles are usually straight across I'd just find a real lefty, and do it right and I hate to buy on the net, I prefer to play the guitar first, so I know I'll like it good luck |
