Learn How To Play Guitar & Guitar Accessories

Question: I want to learn how to play the guitar by myself? (no teacher) acoustic or electric?

I've never played and i love teh sound of electrics but don't you need an amp and aren't they a lot more expensive? do they use sheet music or do guitarists just figure out the notes themselves? i play the violin and always use sheet music. what is a tab and a chord? i hear this a lot when ppl are talking about guitars. plz help me!!

Learn to play tab and chords. just google it. it is very very easy to read. Violins and mandolins are tuned (yes! if you can play violin, you can easily pick up mandolin!) GDAE (low to high), well, guitars are tuned EADGBE. acoustics are nicer to the ear and require less equipment. electrics are good too, and sound AWESOME! dont spend less than £170 on a guitar or youre buying cheap crap. and for the love of god, get a teacher: they are there for a reason, and will take you far.
