Question: How do you learn guitar songs?

I have an electric guitar. I know about 15 licks from different songs. I want to learn the WHOLE song, to play along with it. I can't listen to the song, because I honestly cant hear the strumming pattern. When I search on youtube for it, everyone just teaches does the intro or solo part. When I look for tabs it shows me, but it doesn't show the strumming pattern. Any advice? How do you learn it?

I try recording it through my PC. For beginners, you can use a 1/ 4 to 1/ 8 adapter. then plug it to the line in to your pc, then use audacity to record it. :)

I try using tabs too I can usually get it like that if not, I just watch a cover of someone playing it on youtube (just look closely)
