How do people learn guitar songs by ear?

Question: How do people learn guitar songs by ear?

How do you guys do it! I know it may not be a big deal, but to me that's insane! I can't even guess one part right.Do you guys remember every chord, tab, etc sound? Or how do you do this? :)

Honestly it's just being able to tell the how many steps apart the notes are. It's not like you hear a note and say, oh that's C#2. There's some notes you could call out, but it's not very easy. Instead you just listen to the progressions, how one note relates to the other, and then you'll learn the pattern. After you figure that out, then you can find out the correct Key and correct pitch of each note. You can find a free online ear trainer to practice. It just teaches you the sound of a half step, whole step, 1 1/ 2 step, etc. Up or Down. And that's really all there is to it. Good Luck.

Uh... a good ear!? idk, i have just always been able to do it... no matter what instrument lol i just know.... i suppose its not something u can learn that easily unless it comes naturally...
