Is it too late to learn how to play guitar?
I'm 20 years old male and I feel like I'm too old to learn guitar but I really want to but would it look weird or stupid if I want to? I have another problem. I'm left handed should I get left handed guitar or right handed? I found a cheap right handed one. But I don't know if I'm going to be able to learn that fast. What should I do?Thanks

I'm thinking about getting a guitar for my birthday but i dont want to spend money getting lessons, is it possible to teach yourself with online guides and videos and be able to play as well as someone whos had lessons?

I got a guitar for Christmas, something I've always wanted. Problem is, I have NO idea how to play it lol.I've played piano since I was 6, completely self taught. My main instrument is trumpet, and I've played that for 14 years. I can play every wind instrument out there, although I'm not a fan of woodwinds.I've done the whole drum thing, LOVED marching on bass line in WGI. I've done the whole auxillary percussion and xylophone marimba thing.I've taken too many years of music theory to even count, lol. So point of the story is, I know music. And I know it well.Although I would prefer to start with lessons, I start a 3 month long full time internship in a week, so time for lessons is out of the question. Which is why I'm looking for any good and clear precise websites out there that might help out? When I taught myself piano, I was so young that I learned and practiced SLOPPY, and poor technique has hurt me greatly over the years. It's been a very hard playing habit to change, and a long time has been spent re teaching myself how to play. I don't want to make the same mistake twice.Thank you for any help
Anyone know how to play guitar to sound like what your singing?
I've heard many people do this avi buffalo technique where they'll play guitar chords and on different stuff so it sounds exactly like what they're singing. I really like this technique and it sounds like many guitars when its just one. Can anyone help?
I've been trying to learn how to play guitar for 4 months... no improvement?
I do want to learn very badly. I can't afford lessons so I've been watching lots of youtube videos. I can't play any chords though because when I watch the instructors online slowly position each finger on each string and then strum the chord... I try to do the same but there is this clicking sound that comes when I strum. And before too long, I have to stop trying to play that chord because my fingers hurt from holding the strings down for so long. I really don't understand how people can play chords without having their fingers touch all the strings as opposed to just the ones you're pressing down.I took lessons when I was 10 and never learned anything because I had this same exact problem. My question is... is it pointless for me? Should I just forget it and sell my guitar?
Learning how to play guitar?
I've been playing bass for about 8 months but I also wanna learn electric guitar but I have 1 problem when playing, I can't really play with my middle finger, I've heard most people have trouble hitting frets with their pinky but I have trouble hitting a fret with my middle finger when using my pinky, I can play with my middle finger just not when I use my pinky caus it hurts, example when my pinky is on the 10th fret I can't quickly put my middle finger on the 8th, so is there any suggestions on what I can do

So I had guitar lessons and my teacher taught me how to play and read the music notes but all the songs i've found are in chords and tabs I had to stop my guitar lessons so I can't actually ask him for help. First time teaching someone how to play guitar... what do I do?
So ive been playing 2 years now and am pretty much self taught so I know no theory, i use tabs. I have been asked to teach 2 siblings to play the guitar starting tomorrow I have no idea where to start or what to teach them Do i teach them chords, tabs or notes or all 3? I have no idea how to read notes so that may be a problem. They are absolute beginners. I dont want to teach them tabs only to find out that at school they are learning notes or chords or something completly different so what should I do?
