Question: What is a cheap good looking shredding guitar?

I am a good guitar player but and kinda new. I am still on my first guitar which is a fender and its not really what im looking for. I love heavy metal and rock. I like the look of les pauls, and am looking at an epiphone les paul but i dont know if it is a good shredder, and thats really what i need. I also want one that has a good design but is cheaper. The highest I can go is $500

Jackson dinky models or an ltd i got my ltd for 400 it has hot pickups a floyd rose light weight etc.

Hello there, The Les Paul is a good choice. Others to take a look at and test out would include, Ibanez, Jackson/ Charvel, and Schecter. If you want to stay with Fender, take a look at the old Fender HM and Contemporary Strats. For a good shred you probably want a high number radius fretboard that means it is flatter than the Les Paul or regular Strat. Something 12 inch radius or above. Later,
