Question: Recommendations on bass guitar for beginner?

Im looking for a bass guitar for a beginner but am on a tight budget of say around £120 due to college (have to buy a lot of equipment for my course) anyway if there are any good basses or bass kits for around this price please let me know i want to learn as in the next few months will have quite abit of spare time but nothing to do in it. many thanks zak forgot to put in how are encore guitars? are they easy to play or should i just not bother

I suggest anything by Ibanez that you can afford. I started out on an Ibanez SRX200, I got it used for $120. Try looking for a decent used one at pawn shops or music stores. Also, remember that you are going to need a bass amp. You can get a pretty decent small one for practice in your home, but it has to be a bass amp. I started out by plugging my bass into a regular guitar amp and blew the amp the first time I really turned it up.

I suggest looking into a Cort Bass, They are good quality guitars for the price, And if you havent heard of them They are made from the same makers that make Ibanez. Go on the Cort website and youll be able to see theyre full line. They have a Fretless model that is just awesome. After you get your Bass go to fretboard warrior and itll help you to memorize the fretboard, witch in turn will really help you to learn Bass faster. Enjoy.
