Question: Recommend an acoustic blues guitar instruction book?

I'm an intermediate player, and would like to learn some acoustic blues licks and exercises. What's the best book or book series out there? Anything free and online? Extra credit for links!

Not trying to be rude (honestly) ... But the best way is to listen to the old acoustic players from the 20's and 30's over, and over, and over again. It can be painfully slow to try to pick out licks and such, but it is rewarding. Blind Blake, Robert Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Lonnie Johnson, Blind Willie Johnson, Leadbelly, Blind Willie McTell, list goes on ...

Wholenote.com (I'll include a hyperlink in references) It's okay, I guess. It's definitely not the greatest, but there's is loads of lessons, songs, riffs, and exercises from all different genres. Some of the stuff is pretty good. They have a midi player that plays the tabs. activebass.com, their sister site, is all bass tabs and stuff, but there is still some decent stuff you can find on there. 911tabs.com is a huge database of tabs... kenileeburgess of youtube.com gives slide lessons... Acoustic blues (delta blues) is very thoroughly explained in the easy to find Guitars for Dummies. Learn to basics there and listen to delta stylists incessantly.

Here's an idea......go to myspace click on instructional videos/ guitar you'll be pleasantly surprised, I think!

If you just Google "blues guitar " you should be able to find just about anything you need. I also agree with the suggestion to watch some videos on youtube. Kebmo also has an excellent teaching video. Good luck!
