I am starting the guitar and am asking for one for my birthday in two months. I was just wondering what some must- have accessories for the guitar are? Thanks for the help! what about a capo? what does that do? acoustic guitar!!!

Strings, a tuner, a couple of picks, and ALOT of hard work and practice. you can buy the strings and stuff, but you gotta have guts for the practice! Good luck and don't get too discouraged right away, just stick with it and you'll be a rock star before you know it!

Digital chromatic tuner, guitar strap, at least a five foot cord, an amplifier (obviously); for practice I'd suggest 15 or 30 watts, picks of assorted hardness, an extra set of strings, a gig bag or guitar case of some sort (hard shell would be preferable), guitar stand (I really like this one i have which is called an on-stage a-frame. it's portable and effective, and it isn't flimsy and can hold different sized guitars (electric and acoustic). that's all i can think of for now. EDIT: I just realized that you might not be getting an electric... so if you're not, then obviously don't worry with the amp and cord...

Tuner, strap, patch chord (if your playing electric), picks, peg winder (if your going to change your strings yourself)

When I started playing I tried a good amp, wah wah pedal and loads of other things to make me sound better. However, the only thing that really works is loads and loads of practice. There's no easy way to learn the guitar, but I'd definitely recommend an electronic tuner so the guitar is always in tune. If you can afford it, get a guitar tutor as well. They will improve you dramatically. Good luck and don't give in! It will be worth it, believe me

All of the above, oh, a capo is a device used to compress the strings at different frets on the fingerboard so you can play in higher keys.
