Look at Tom deLonge and Mark Hoppus. One or the other (or both) own Gibson guitars. They're hecka sick :)

They haven't. Music is made by the musician. The instrument is simply his tools and a window in to his soul.

Well Fender actually "technically " produced the first solid body electric guitar. The Broadcaster. They did have hollow body electric guitars before hand but Les Paul was know to be the one who invented the first solid body. He original went to Gibson to show them his rough draft ideas. They denied the idea and called it the broom stick with pick ups on it, or something like that. When Fender released the broadcaster ( because Leo Fender was very close to Les Paul and they worked together on many accounts), Gibson call Les back and then started producing the Les Paul. Other than setting standards for great American made guitars, they did add that great signature humbucker tone to their electric guitar line. Still to this day many of the famous musicians use Gibson.

I don't know that they have really. The Les Paul has a distinctive sound, and Gibson first produced the humbucker pick up but I don't think that's changed the way music is played.

I don't think they have...
