The quality of the guitar from the pickups to the accessories to the finish. it all gets better with price. with beginner guitars there tend to be dead spots where the notes dont ring out good. the tuners dont stay in tune. and the guitars finish looks really cheap.

The term 'beginner guitar' is simply a marketing thing, meant to describe a guitar which has been scaled down as far as quality goes. It *is* a regular guitar. The may potentially be something correct about a 'beginner guitar' term. After all, no one who has been playing guitar for a while would ever purchase one for themselves.
