Question: How to play blues on a bass guitar?

I want to know how to play blues and a bass guitar I cant read or understand the notes like C E D ect. I can play by ear and like 1st string 4th fret please help!!

Well there's no excuse for not knowing the notes on the neck. Try playing along with a couple recordings, or figuring out what that performer is doing.

Learn lemmon song by led zep, u can easily find accurate tabs online, it, has some parts that are fast if u'r just staring out, but it's nothing u can accomplish w/ a some practice and it's the best funnest bass line in my opinion, and good example of walking blues bass line, u dont need to read music to play tabs...also activebass.com is good website w/ lessons, theory, tab etc.

I'm a bass player and am currently studying the blues through the use of this book: The Total Blues Bassist You can find the book on Amazon. I strongly suggest you get a book explaining music theory and you should definitley learn the notes on the fretboard. I would find bass impossible to play if I didn't understand at least a little bit of theory, I'd just be playing basic root notes all the time.
