Playing a musical instrument, especially stringed instruments, like guitar, involves many elements that must come together perfectly for a good experience. Beginners usually find the whole process too complex. You should learn how to play in gradual, easy steps, familiarizing yourself with each step little by little. 

Keep at it because once you start playing those tunes perfectly, it will be a permanent joy for you and those around you. Guitar is one of the most popular instruments around and its popularity is increasing steadily. 

If you are interested in taking up this instrument, it is necessary that you learn it properly to become adept in guitar playing.
Posture is very important, first and foremost learn how to properly hold the guitar. 

Then there is the matter of tuning. Most guitar companies will claim that their guitars are already tuned. The truth is that a guitar needs to be tuned nearly every time you pick it up.

Tuning a guitar should not rushed, take your time to make certain that all strings are perfectly tuned. Some common tuning methods are as follows, 5th fret method is a favorite for beginners. Just fret a string and match the note with the next open string. A well-trained ear will make this job easier. 

Also note that the B string on guitars will have to be tuned manually to be in proper tune. A fast and precise way to tune guitar is tune harmonics. What you need to do is create resonating harmonics on two strings simultaneously and noting the vibrations between then.

The wobbling sound happens when the resonating strings are not perfectly in sync with each other. Tune up or down to rectify this until you get perfect resonance. Unlike the fret method, which involves a fret string and an open string, this method uses two open stings and hence provides better results. 

Apart from knowing guitar tuning, you must also learn the basics of guitar chords. Basically there are guitar chords (open strings) from A to G and every guitarist should be aware of these. These chords are equally essential whether you want to play jazz, rock, country, pop or classical. 

Give some time to learning the guitar chords basics. You will not learn overnight. With the right knowledge of the guitar chords and the keys to play songs, you can have the fundamental tools and the expertise to play many songs and elevate the level of pleasure that you would gain from playing the instrument. 

Spend as much time as required. As you practice more, your ear will become more and more sensitive to the small differences and you will gradually become a truly harmonious guitar player.

Remember that the ability to play the guitar is not so exceptional that only a few can play. All you need to do is focus on the instrument and learn to play the instrument the right way!
